  • Puppy & Kitten Check-Ups

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! In order to keep your puppy or kitten healthy, they will need regular vaccinations, worming and flea control. At Boundary Vets, we recommend the following for your new pet:

Puppy training and check-ups

  • Puppy crate training is ideal as a haven where your puppy can retreat if feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
  • Young puppies should be fed 3-4 meals spread evenly throughout the day.
  • Puppy vaccinations consist of 2 vaccinations given 2-4 weeks apart from 6 weeks of age.
  • Your puppy can start going out for walkies a week after their puppy vaccination course.
  • Your new pet will then need an annual booster vaccination to keep their vaccinations up to date.
  • An additional oral vaccination can be administered to protect against kennel cough from 8 weeks old.
  • Worming every 3 months is advised to flush any intestinal worms from your puppy's guts.
  • We advise administering flea and lungworm prevention monthly. This can be via a tasty tablet or a topical spot-on treatment.
  • The recommended age of neutering is subject to your puppy's breed and temperament.
